UNACCOUNTABLE quangos have become even more central to government under Labour than they were under the Tories, says a report from the Local Government Information Unit. The government is using these unelected bodies to head policy initiatives in health, education, community regeneration, housing and regional policy.


PUBLIC sector workers, the low paid and single people are at increasing risk of being priced out of the housing market. During the last 30 years house prices have increased by 135 percent while wages have risen by only 60 percent.
