Two home for Xmas
THE TWO Cambridge charity workers who were jailed at the end of last year are not going back to prison. The Court of Appeal ruled on Friday of last week that Ruth Wyner and John Brock, who were released pending appeal in July, had received sentences which were "far too long".
They were jailed for four and five years respectively because some of the people at the homelessness centre they ran were dealing drugs. There was never any suggestion that the two were involved themselves. The appeal judges are to give a final decision next year on whether to quash the convictions. The two will fight on to clear their names.
