  • SOME 300,000 workers are still being paid below the minimum wage-one year since its introduction. Office for National Statistics figures show that 250,000 workers are paid less than �3.60 an hour and another 50,000 18 to 21 year olds are paid below �3 an hour.
  • THE TORIES have been handed �1.4 million by Lord Ashcroft, the billionaire former tax exile who is now the party's treasurer. Ashcroft was based in Belize but recently relocated to Britain.
  • THE Aviation Health Institute says there is evidence that, of the 20,000 deaths from lung blood clots each year, one third are related to economy class air travel.
