We want our railway back
Socialist Worker sellers are continuing to campaign for the renationalisation of the railways. Last week 119 copies of Socialist Worker were sold outside Birmingham's New Street station during the week while, despite the weather, 78 were sold on the High Street on Saturday. On Saturday 123 papers were sold on Edinburgh's Princes Street, 84 in Holloway, 70 in Leeds and 52 in Cardiff. 41 papers were sold on the demonstration against Trident in Glasgow.
Workplace sales included 9 at Brent Town Hall, 7 at both Manchester Royal Infirmary and the Britannia House council office in Bradford, 6 at De La Rue printers in High Wycombe, 5 at both Yarrow's shipyard in Glasgow and Westbourne Park bus garage in west London, 4 at Kodak in Harrow and 3 at the Direct Maintenance Services in Cardiff. 9 copies of Socialist Worker were sold at AEEU Divisional Council 7A.
25 people joined the Socialist Workers Party at last weekend's Socialist Worker Student Society conference, 12 in Birmingham, 4 in Manor House, 3 at the Hackney Empire Fightback rally and 2 on Wednesday's demonstration in Hackney, while 1 joined in Hackney Wick.
