Falkirk by-election

OVER 50 people went out campaigning last Sunday for the Scottish Socialist Party's candidate, care worker Iain Hunter, in the forthcoming Falkirk West by-election.

The seat has been made vacant by the resignation of Denis Canavan, the left wing MSP who won the seat as an independent after New Labour refused to stand him as a candidate.

Campaigners received a friendly response on the doorstep, with several people signing up to help the SSP's election campaign. A by-election in Anniesland has been called for 23 November.
