Socialist Alliances

LANCASHIRE Socialist Alliance is to stand a candidate in the forthcoming parliamentary by-election in Preston. The Labour Party last weekend narrowly voted against selecting Val Wise, the daughter of left wing former MP Audrey Wise, as its candidate. Instead it voted to select a Blairite former Euro MP. East London Socialist Alliance candidate Paul Phillips won 7.5 percent of the vote in Stratford. And in the Southville ward in Bristol a Socialist Alliance candidate got 2 percent of the poll.
