WORKERS FROM the Biwater plant in Clay Cross, Derbyshire, were to lobby parliament on Thursday in their fight to save jobs. The 700 workers at the pipe-making factory face the dole after the multinational firm St Gobain took over the plant and announced its closure.

Workers planned to hand in a petition with thousands of signatures backing their fight for jobs at this week's lobby.
