Depression, suicide the price of poverty

POVERTY is leading to a soaring depression and suicides in Wales, according to a new survey. The report, "Mapping Social Exclusion in Wales", shows that more than half of all households in Wales have an income of less than 10,000 a year. People in Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent and Rhondda Cynon Taff are among the poorest in Europe. Some 16 percent of them are diagnosed as suffering from depression.
