Arms sales fury

SOME 87 percent of people in Britain want stronger government controls on arms sales according to a recent Gallup poll. The survey showed that a further 77 percent agreed that Labour "has not done enough to stop the sales of arms to governments which abuse human rights". An MPs' select committee reported last week that the government has not implemented any of the recommendations of the Scott report after the Tories' "Arms to Iraq" scandal.
