POSTAL workers across Britain have begun a ballot on the "Way Forward" deal pushed by Royal Mail management and their CWU union leaders. Many workers are incensed that they are being asked again to vote on this rotten offer, which is essentially the same as one the members rejected last year. The union's London Divisional Committee has produced excellent propaganda against the deal. It asks, "We said no once-which part did you not understand?" It goes on to say that the agreement would, in some circumstances, "take away your right to ballot and strike. Solutions to disagreements will be imposed on you. It all amounts to a medieval 'Star Chamber' to sort out the postal workers!"
Branches and divisions should follow London's lead, and build the campaign to throw out this deal and build the fight for a big rise in pay without strings.
POSTAL WORKERS at the Muswell Hill office in north London walked out on Monday after management removed a poster calling for a vote against the "Way Forward".
