A WAVE of rent strikes across colleges in Cambridge University is continuing. On Wednesday of last week around 60 students gathered at a few hours notice at Trinity College to protest after they heard the college authorities were trying to victimise non-payers. Some 160 students at the college have still not paid their rent. At King's College there are 300 students on rent strike. Students at Pembroke College have voted to continue their rent strike, and around 90 students at Jesus College are still refusing to pay.

AROUND 50 students held a rally outside Oxford University's main offices on Friday of last week in support of students who have not paid their tuition fees. Some 12 students, who have been suspended for non-payment, had been ordered to hand in their library cards. During the two hour long rally no senior member of the university came out to receive the library cards or the petitions collected by students. So the students scored a little victory, as no library cards were handed in.
