OVER 300 people attended a protest meeting last week at Cockburn School in south Leeds over council plans to allow building firm Barratt's to build a roundabout in the area. The roundabout would be sited on a road that includes Cockburn School and the only entrance to a large housing estate.

OVER 80 people attended a meeting discussing "Where now after Seattle?" last week in Nottingham. There was enthusiastic support for a local Carnival Against Capitalism day on 1 May, which Nottingham and District Trades Council has already backed.
