More than 100 students joined the national Student Assembly Against Austerity on Saturday of last week.
Activists from dozens of campuses around Britain came together to discuss a variety of campaigning issues.
Workshop themes included campaigning against tuition fees and for free education, anti-war, resisting racist scapegoating, and organising the fightback on campus.
Students heard from Sussex university occupiers and other solidarity actions with the higher education strike last week.
There were calls to begin a campaign against the privatisation of student debt and to bring back EMA.
Students also wanted to take on casualisation of jobs and zero hours contracts.
