Crown post office strike called off

by Annette Mackin
Issue No. 2378

A strike of Crown Post Office workers planned for Monday of this week was cancelled. It would have been the 13th time workers had struck.

But Crown Post Office managers in Unite struck for 24 hours on Monday in a row over pay. They have not had a pay rise in 12 years. Some 300 Post Offices closed as a result of the manager’s strike.

Brian Scott, from Unite said, “The management has taken a very hardline stance against our members who have seen their living standards seriously eroded.”
