Mark Duggan crime scene investigator describes chaos

Issue No. 2379

The inquest into the death of Mark Duggan, who police shot dead in 2011, has heard of breakdowns in communication.

Crime scene investigator Patricia Larrigan said she was not given any briefing when she arrived.

The court heard how the minicab that Mark stepped out of was allowed to be driven away after 7am the next day. Larrigan said this was “extraordinary”.

Larrigan said the gun Mark was accused of using “was a considerable distance away from the body, it was very unusual. There is always the possibility that the gun wasn’t involved.”

The inquest continues.
