Inside the Circle of Fire: A Sheffield Sound Map

Artist Chris Watson has recorded the sound of Sheffield, from its woodlands to its industrial heritage.

The way in which the sounds cross over is almost like you are moving between soundscapes. At times it’s relaxing, at others entertaining—such as the goal celebrations from rival football grounds.

But I feel a little sorry for the gift shop workers listening to the same half hour loop for months on end.
