Theresa May makes man stateless - again

Home secretary Theresa May has removed a man’s British citizenship for the second time. 

The supreme court already ruled that Iraqi-born Hilal al Jedda could not be stripped of his citizenship. May removed it again on 1 November, so Hilal must start the legal process from scratch.


Police failed to protect victim

Police in Bristol admitted a collective failure to protect disabled man Bijan Ebrahimi, as the vigilante who killed him was convicted for murder last week.

Ebrahimi’s neighbour Lee James beat him to death and set his body on fire. Ebrahimi had repeatedly begged police for protection—up until just a few hours before the killing.


Man guilty of Grimsby mosque bomb

A man has been found guilty of helping two former soldiers petrol bomb a mosque in Grimsby.

Daniel Cressey helped Stuart Harness and Gary Humphries carry out the attack in May. They threw petrol bombs as worshippers were trapped inside.


Back to work scheme fails

A government back to work scheme for “troubled” families has missed its target of 19,832 people in jobs. 

Instead only 720 people have come off the dole at a cost of £8 million.
