The family of Mark Duggan have called a vigil for Saturday of this week to remember and respect Mark's life.

Mark was 29 years old when he was shot and killed by police on Ferry Lane in Tottenham on 4 August 2011.

This comes after a jury concluded yesterday, Wednesday, that Mark was “lawfully killed” by police officers.

The conclusion has provoked outrage, and his family say they will continue fighting for justice.

Saturday’s vigil will take place outside Tottenham police station. The Rev Nims Obunge, who buried Mark, gave a message from his family.

"This vigil is intended to be a very peaceful vigil. We expect that anybody who would come would stand with the family. It is a vigil in remembrance and respecting the life and death of Mark Duggan.”
