Wardens walk out in dispute over pay

Traffic wardens in the Unite union in Portsmouth were set to strike for 24 hours on Wednesday of this week.

Workers are in dispute over not being paid for carrying out extra duties.

They struck for two hours on Tuesday of last week—but the council threatened to deduct a whole day’s pay.
