Afghan refugee Manjeet Kaur has had her asylum case refused by the Home Office. Her appeal against the decision is likely to be held in early March.

Manjeet moved from Afghanistan to India following the death of her father.

Her husband Amitt was a campaigning journalist who disappeared in 2011 and then she was physically attacked and fled to Britain.

Manjeet lives in Manchester, where she has spoken out on immigration and asylum issues.

As a wheelchair user Manjeet has also campaigned for the rights of disabled. She has campaigned against cuts and the bedroom tax.
