Miners in the AMCU union are striking over pay.
One striker was killed and another seriously injured when police opened fire outside an Amplats’ mine near Northam in Limpopo province.
Workers have been out since 23 January in the first official dispute led by the AMCU. It overtook the NUM union after the 2012 Marikana massacre.
