Edinburgh College staff reject offer

Lecturers at Edinburgh College struck for three days last week in a bitter dispute over attacks on their terms and conditions.

The EIS-Fela union members held branch meetings across college campuses on Friday of last week.

They overwhelmingly rejected a proposal from college management that would still leave them with a lower hourly rate of pay.

The higher education committee of the UCU union met on Friday of last week.

It voted against calling more strikes in the campaign over pay and agreed a marking boycott to begin on 28 April.
