Wigan workers set to ballot over cuts

Issue No. 2391

Over 300 workers at Wigan council will begin balloting for industrial action this week.

Bosses have cut their car user allowance. This amounts to a £1,000 a year pay cut.

Unison member Catherine Croston said, “Living in Wigan we have been inspired by the victory of Hovis workers over zero-hours contracts.

“We believe we can win.”
