Azelle Rodney gun cop loses legal challenge

Issue No. 2393

The police marksman who shot and killed Azelle Rodney has lost his appeal against a public inquiry’s finding that the shooting was unlawful.

The cop, only known as “E7”, was challenging the ruling as “irrational and unsustainable”.

E7 shot Azelle in north London in April 2005.

Azelle’s mother Susan Alexander is urging the Crown Prosecution Service to bring criminal charges against E7.

COPS: Stop police spying campaign launched

More than 50 people attended the launch of the Campaign Opposing Police Surveillance (COPS) on Thursday of last week.

Speakers included blacklisted construction worker Dave Smith and Imran Khan QC.
