Around 700 workers walked out at two Scottish naval bases on Tuesday of this week. More walkouts are expected as well as action short of a strike.
The workers at Faslane and Coulport are members of the Unite union employed by Babcock Marine.
Previous action was suspended as workers considered a new offer of 2 percent a year for two years, plus changes to conditions linked to a further 0.2 percent each year.
But then it emerged that the firm’s top four bosses got a 9 percent rise and £7 million in bonuses.
Workers voted nearly unanimously to reject management’s offer.
One striker told Socialist Worker, “There is a real sense of determination around the mass walkout. All we’re asking for is a fair share of the profits we’ve generated.”
