Kingston University workers and students protest to save school under threat

by Francesca Manning
Issue No. 2394

About 70 Kingston University students and workers joined a protest on Wednesday of last week outside the board of governors meeting.

They were protesting against the decision to close the University’s School of Surveying and Planning.

The closure could mean two thirds of the staff in the school could lose their jobs.

Over 300 students study at the school. It has sustainability at its core.

The closure sums up Tory Britain—hit workers, hit students and hit the environment, while top management take six-figure salaries.
