The result of Glasgow residential care workers’ ballot on an improved offer from council bosses was due as Socialist Worker went to press.
A 72-hour strike was set to begin on Friday of this week if the Unison union members reject the deal.
The workers have struck solidly for seven days this year against the imposition of shift changes, new job roles and pay cuts of up £1,495 a year.
Council bosses quickly negotiated an improved offer after workers escalated their strikes.
The offer includes compensation for one year’s loss of pay, and to fund more staff.
Some workers rightly argue that they should make sure all their demands are met.
