Campaigners across Britain are preparing for a series of protests against the bedroom tax and benefit cuts.

They are to culminate in a day of coordinated protests on Saturday 5 April, called by the Anti Bedroom Tax and Benefit Justice Federation. This marks a year since the tax was introduced. See

  • Activists in Greenock were set to protest on Tuesday of next week against Inverclyde council’s policy of refusing discretionary housing payments to some claimants of Disability Living Allowance
  • Benefit campaigners plan several protests on Saturday 29 March, including a repeat of last year’s “1,000 mothers march” protest in Tottenham, north London
  • A national day of protests against Atos will take place on Wednesday 1 April. Demonstrators will target Atos Healthcare test centres
