Care UK workers in Doncaster are set to strike for another four days over the Easter weekend starting on Friday this week. The ex-NHS workers are resisting new contracts from the privatisation vultures Care UK attacking their conditions and slashing their pay by up to £5,000 a year.
The workers have already struck for 16 days since the start of last month.
Unison union rep Kirstine Carbutt told Socialist Worker, “Care UK has not moved at all. They claim there will be no disruption to the service this weekend. They won’t admit the impact our strikes are having.
“But we are not going to back down—we’re still going strong.”
Trade unionists from around Britain are expected to join a solidarity demonstration in Doncaster this Saturday, assembling 11am Civic Square, Waterdale.
