Trade unionists mark Workers' Memorial Day

Issue No. 2401

Trade unionists and campaigners demonstrated across Britain to mark Workers’ Memorial Day on Monday of this week, including 150 in London, to highlight deaths at work.

On the Crossrail construction project a leaked safety report last week said workers were “afraid to report [accidents] due to the likelihood of being laid off”.

It found a “culture of spying and fear” at Crossrail.

Managers are also photographing or videoing workers to intimidate them.
