Sacked drivers protest at Tesco

Issue No. 2402

Some 50 former Tesco lorry drivers in the Unite union protested outside Tesco’s distribution centre in Doncaster last Saturday.

They blocked roads to slow down lorries getting in and out of the centre.

The contracts of 184 workers were outsourced to Eddie Stobart, which then sacked them in 2012.

Unite is now pursuing an unfair dismissal claim against the firm.
