Hundreds of people packed into a meeting in Aylesham, Kent, last Saturday to commemorate the 1984-85 miners’ strike.

Speakers included veteran NUM union leader Terry Harrison and Kay Sutcliffe, who helped set up one of the first women’s support groups.

People celebrated the tremendous solidarity that the struggle generated. It also addressed the need to keep fighting today.
