This three-part crime series is based on novels written by Booker Prize winner John Banville under the pen name Benjamin Black.
Quirke, played by Gabriel Byrne, is a pathologist in the Dublin city morgue in the 1950s. His job pulls him into uncovering the reasons for sudden deaths in the city.
He investigates the death of someone who ends up on his mortuary slab in each episode.
But little by little his inquiries reveal surprising links to his own life and hidden family history.
