Activists in the Unison union took part in a day of action over pay on Wednesday of last week. In Portsmouth, union members leafletted workers at the city’s civic offices urging them to vote yes in an upcoming strike ballot over pay. The ballot begins on Friday of this week. After work we held two briefing sessions jointly with the Unite union and armed activists with arguments and materials to deliver a yes vote.

By Friday the Unison office had already noted a marked increase in applications to join the union.
