Leave to Remain
This drama tells the story of a group of asylum seeking children living in Britain. It focuses on Abdul, originally from Afghanistan.
Leave to Remain is the first feature film from Bruce Goodison, Bafta award winning director of television dramas and documentaries.
We are given an insight into the arduous, complicated and often cruel system that these children have to go through.
It is clearly well researched, covering the minute details of the asylum process including interviews, age assessments and appeals.
Real asylum seekers play the main characters. Its release date is timed to coincide with Refugee Week (16-22 June).
