The Golden Dream: travelling to a better life?

Two Guatemalan teenagers journey across Mexico to cross the US border. Director ­Quemada-Diez, who has previously worked with Ken Loach, made this naturalistic drama.

He uses methods familiar from Loach’s work, including improvisation and non-professional actors.

Brandon Lopez and Karen Martinez play Juan and Sara who are desperate for a better life

Quemada-Diez’s road movie sets out to mix humanity with gritty realism.

Exploring the Roman Empire

Imperial Rome and its relationship to the lands it occupied are explored in this exhibition. 

It brings together objects from the British Museum’s collection, to give an insight into people’s lives from across the Empire.
