Workers at Sainsbury’s distribution centres were voting on strikes to defend pensions this week.
They’re members of the Unite union. Workers already struck in Merseyside last month.
Merseyside rep Ronnie Evans told Socialist Worker, “Sainsbury’s have shut down a defined benefit pensions scheme for 14,000 workers, and replaced it with a paltry savings plan. They want to take the workforce down to the minimum level. It’s a disgrace.”
