Rebekah Brooks ignored corruption fears over Daniel Morgan case

Issue No. 2413

Former Scotland Yard detective Dave Cook has spoken about a meeting with the former News of the World editor Rebekah Brooks in 2002.

He informed Brooks that a surveillance operation ordered by News International was “trying to undermine me and the investigation into the murder of Daniel Morgan, it’s as simple as that.”

He added, “I brought this to the attention of Rebekah Brooks.

“I had the meeting… She chose to do nothing about it.”
