Babar Ahmad and Talha Ahsan, two British citizens extradited to the US on terrorism charges, have been sentenced.
Talha will be released and allowed to return home. Babar was sentenced to 12 and a half years
The judge took his eight year detention without charge in Britain into account and he will be released within a year and will serve his sentence in Britain.
Babar and Talha pled guilty as part of a plea bargain, believing this would give them shorter sentences that might be served in Britain. In the US, over 97 percent of criminal cases result in a plea deal.
