Protesters pitch up at Stafford hospital against services transfer

Issue No. 2415

Protesters who have pitched up more than 50 tents outside Stafford Hospital are calling on NHS campaigners to join them for a day of protest this Saturday.

Protesters have been camping outside the hospital in the West Midlands over plans to transfer vital services away from the hospital.

Julian Porter has been involved in the campaign from the start. He told Socialist Worker, “We are urging all NHS campaigners to come and join us from 4pm on Saturday. Even if you can’t make that time come along anyway.”

Striking Doncaster care workers were also set to visit the camp on Wednesday of this week to share and discuss the fight to save the NHS.

Julian said, “We are still going strong.”
