Lawyers for disgraced former Tory spin doctor and News of the World editor Andy Coulson were back in court on his behalf last week. Coulson is charged with three counts of perjury.
His advocate entered no plea at the High Court in Glasgow to charges of giving false evidence during the trial of Scottish socialist politician Tommy Sheridan.
The trial comes in the wake of the phone-hacking trial. Sheridan was convicted for perjury over the testimony he gave in a libel case against the News of the World. He said he was “absolutely confident” the verdict would be reversed.
Full proceedings are not expected to begin until early next year.
