No votes for homeless in Scot's referendum

Issue No. 2416

Patriotic celebrities might be welcome to wade into the Scottish independence debate. But if you’re homeless in Glasgow it’s another matter.

One homeless man tried to register to vote at a friend’s address. Council officials replied that he couldn’t sign up as a homeless voter without using a more appropriate address.

“This address may be, for example, a park bench, a bus shelter or the doorway to a high street store,” they helpfully suggested.
