The anti-union lawyer tasked with writing an “independent” call for yet more anti-union laws has thrown in the towel.
The Tories made a lot of noise last November when they launched the review to capitalise on the Unite union’s defeat at Grangemouth oil refinery.
But Bruce Carr QC will now only produce a “limited” report.
He is “increasingly concerned” that he has too little evidence after unions refused to cooperate. And he fears that anything he says would be used “politically” not objectively.
Somehow he took nine months to work that out.
