Front of house staff at Amgueddfa Cymru/National Museum Wales walked out last weekend as part of our fight against management plans to cut weekend payments.

The workers in the PCS union include miner guides at the Big Pit museum in Blaenavon, slate workers in Llanberis, Snowdonia, and gallery assistants in the other sites throughout Wales.

It was the second of three consecutive weekends of action.

Three of the seven museums were shut while the remainder had only limited opening with galleries staffed by senior staff.

The action has already seen three new members join PCS in Cardiff alone and has won overwhelming public support. Further action is planned.
