Doncaster Care UK workers build for their longest walkout yet

Issue No. 2417

Workers at Care UK in Doncaster have voted unanimously for a three-week strike in their ongoing campaign to defend pay and conditions.

The walkout was set to start on Monday of next week.

The workers, in the Unison union, unanimously backed the plan at a meeting on Monday of last week.

They have already taken 48 days of strikes against Care UK bosses.

A three-week walkout would be their longest yet.

The dispute began when Care UK bosses tried to impose new, worse contracts on staff that would slash thousands of pounds from some workers’ pay.

Their current dispute is demanding the living wage for new staff.
