Workers protest at the Department for Transport
RMT union members protested at the Department for Transport in London on Monday of this week.
They handed in 10,000 cards opposing plans for the Northern and Transpennine Express franchises that would cut jobs and services, and close ticket offices.
Heathrow Express workers set to begin overtime ban
Workers at Heathrow Express were set to begin industrial action this Sunday against planned redundancies and cuts.
The RMT union members will refuse to work any overtime until 21 September.
RMT union suspends cleaners strike for talks
The RMT union suspended a planned strike by cleaners working for ISS on the East Coast rail for talks.
The cleaners had been set to strike on Friday and Saturday of last week. They are in dispute over pay and conditions.
Aslef union strike set to hit the Tube
Aslef union members on London Underground’s Central Line were set to strike on Friday of this week.
Workers are angry at bosses’ failure to adhere to agreements made with the union.
Over 90 percent backed strikes in a recent ballot.
