Defend Glasgow home care services

Issue No. 2419

Glasgow council is to outsource all responsibility for assessing and organising of people who need home care services from their social work department.

The Labour-run council cites “budget pressures”—meaning future cuts—as a central reason.

Unison says this will lead to further cuts in the service and attacks on workers’ jobs, wages and conditions at council-owned firm Cordia.
