Museums workers cause disruption for bosses

Issue No. 2419

The National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh faced a week of disruption as workers took part in a series of one-hour strikes.

The action, by members in the PCS union, ended last Saturday. It is part of a campaign to overturn bosses’ decision to remove weekend working allowances for staff.

PCS members at the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum in central London also protested outside the late opening of its Disobedient Objects exhibition on Thursday of last week.

Staff wages are down over 10 percent in three years.
