Protesters gathered outside the US embassy in London on Wednesday of last week to protest against police brutality in the wake of the killing of Michael Brown in Missouri.
Speakers included Diane Abbott MP, Weyman Bennett of Unite Against Fascism and Marcia Rigg, the sister of Sean Rigg who died in police custody.
Protests have rocked Ferguson, Missouri, since the killing on 9 August.
Weyman also spoke at a public meeting in Notting Hill, west London, in which he gave an eyewitness report of the defiant protests in Ferguson and of Michael Brown’s funeral.
He recalled anger in the church over racism, but also the mixed response when civil rights veteran Al Sharpton criticised poor black people for not having the drive to succeed.
