Workers from across Greece marched in the northern city of Thessalonica last Saturday against the government’s austerity programme.
Public sector trade unions led the rally against job cuts, privatisation and other attacks. The Greek government is making cuts to meet the demands of its creditors.
Anti-fascists are also preparing for mass protests against the fascist party Golden Dawn next week.
They will mark the first anniversary of the murder of anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas by Golden Dawn.
It comes as new evidence is being brought forward about Golden Dawn leaders’ role in racist attacks.
And a weak anti-racist law introduced in response to the anger after Pavlos’ killing is set to return to parliament.
